Besides astronomy and Scrabble, I have various other interests, including, in no particular order:
In particular I follow F1, CART, IRL, and the World Rally Championship. I may also be caught watching the NASCAR :). In they were on, the World Touring Cars may also be good, plus sportscars, e.g. Le Mans, and other stuff such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Paris-Dakar (or wherever) rally, and so on.
I quite like watching snooker, darts, athletics, the Tour de France, plus sometimes golf, tennis and cricket. Not so much into the US stick-and-ball sports, but then I was never into football in the UK either.
I also like sci-fi, documentaries, some genres of film and comedy.
Science in general and the resulting technology. Almost any science, but particular examples are planetary science and exploration, geology and palaeontology, nanotechnology and life extension. In fact I did geology as my first degree, and it has its own page.
Mainly as a means to do other things, but I keep up with developments in computing. The astronomy involves programming as necessary in various languages, which I occasionally cross over to the Scrabble.
I seem to be the only one in the astro group here who doesn't listen to music whilst working, but I have a few gigabytes worth at home, mostly rock/metal or Britsh dance music, for example Soundgarden, U2, The Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and Aphex Twin.
Have been to various European countries and driven round much of the Western US, in particular the national parks.
I keep a diary, but at present it's only offline.
I have various photo albums stretching back to 1989, but again these haven't
been digitised yet.
I'd like to do some more on the genealogy of my family at some point but haven't
done so yet.
I got into Scrabble from board games rather than word puzzles, and I'm
interested in them in general.
